Carmelo Anthony: Fashion Fashionista

This weekend while watching a Denver Nuggets game, a female friend commented on Carmelo Anthony’s fashion sense. He’s always color coordinated and rocking an arm sleeve, a headband, and wristbands on both wrists. Sweatbands and wristbands are nothing new to the NBA, but I found it quite interesting, because Carmelo goes above and beyond EVERY game to rock this attire. For some he might be over-dressed for the occasion, but to the ladies, it looks awesome!
I wonder if this is something superstitious or if it’s really just a sweat protection mechanism, lol.

3rd Power Outlet “Thinks Pink”

The Drexel University women’s basketball program will join the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and 600 schools nationally in the organization’s Think Pinkinitiative on Feb. 14 at 7:00 p.m. when the Dragons take on longtime rival the University of Delaware Blue Hens.

The WBCA’s Think Pink initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The week set aside for this year’s initiative is Feb. 8 – 17. 3rd Power Outlet is doing their part by donating pink wristbands and headbands to wear during the game. Also, the coaching staffs and Drexel staff will all be wearing pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer.

Pretzel Boy will be selling ribbon-shaped pretzels and the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority will be selling pink ribbons at the game with all of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Koman for the Cure foundation.

Coca-Cola will be supplying pink “Mardi Gras” beads to everyone in attendance promoting Tab Energy, their new pink low-cal energy drink.

Any fan who wears pink to the game will receive free admission.

3rd Power Outlet has a few more pink items available for those interested in free admission!

eCommerce Tips for Selling Eyewear, Jewelry, Headwear, etc.

One of the first questions consumers ask when purchasing clothing, jewelry, or accessories is… “How Will This Look On Me”.

Display is everything! Lots of stores are going towards live mannequins, but those can get quite pricey.
What’s the alternative…MANNEQUINS!

Look at the difference in these two items:

Du Rag Du Rag

Which one draws your attention more? The one on the mannequin head, of course. Mannequin heads can be made to resemble all aspects of the human head and are made to scale. I know this seems like an obvious concept, but let’s think deeper here. A wig is a wig is a wig. It’s hair… plain and simple. Look at the difference in seeing the hair on a mannequin head.

It makes a WORLD of difference. Donning a mannequin head with a wig allows you to display how the wig will fit with specific face types, how the hair will flow, etc.

In addition, think about sunglasses, hats, caps, bandanas, sweat bands, earrings, du rags, stocking caps, etc. All of these things are necessary accessories to your ‘drobe and it makes PERFECT sense to see how they look on a physical head. Of course purchasing in the store, you could put them on and look in the mirror… DUH, but for the massive increase in online shopping, this is vital to the customer experience.

The shopping experience is about quick and easy. Shoppers want to take a glimpse, checkout, and go. By displaying these items on mannequin heads, you are almost guaranteeing yourself increased sales.

So get your mind right and get your mannequin heads today!

Are You Ready For Football?

Superbowl Sunday hands-down is by far the best day of the year. I’m personally advocating that Monday should become a national holiday. A day to bask in the wings, brew, commercials, and everything FOOTBALL! Yes, I would have loved to be rooting for the Falcons today, but I’ll live with it. Today is still a great day in football! I’ll be out there with the rest of ’em: jersey, sweatband, hat, and pennants ready to cheer the NY Giants to victory.

Superbowl 2008

If you’re a little sour like me about your team not making it to the Superbowl, you can still show your team support. 3rd Power has NFL pennants and license plates for the Giants, Colts, Chiefs, Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, and more. In short, you name it… we got it! And like most fans when one season ends, it’s on to the next.
