Ryan’s Sheckler’s 1st MTV Cribs Appearance

I was watching The Best of MTV Cribs yesterday and saw 3rdPO’s favorite, Ryan Sheckler. Considering he’s a heartthrob and somewhat sex symbol, it was so cute to see the young, cute, innocent, Ryan. Here’s a clip from the Cribs episode:

Has skateboarding turned into a job for you now, where you see it more as work than a hobby?
Not until recently since it’s always been more fun than anything. But now there is a lot of business to it since I ‘m starting to get a lot of deals…it’s just nuts now.

What would you say helped you get to this point of your career?
Just a lot of practice and dedication. You just can’t give up. I broke a lot of bones and made it through a lot of weird things that I probably wouldn’t have gotten back on my board if I didn’t have my heart in it.

So what injuries have you sustained through the process?
I broke both my elbows three times, broke my ankle, broke a foot and had probably about six concussions.

Is there some special pet name for your skateboard?
Nah, not at all. I just call it my skateboard. Actually…it’s called my life.

Britney Gets A VMA Nomination?!

Ooops they did it again… MYV announed today that Pop Star Britney Spears is the first nominee announced for this year’s 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. Her single, ‘Piece of Me’is the alleged single up for the award. Her single, along with three other “top” female artists, (I use the term top losely here), is slated to to represent the Best Female Video category.

This would be a HUGE upgrade from last year’s appearance. Which was in short, a train wreck.It hasn’t been released yet, whether Britney Spears will perform at the awards show, but my advice to Brit would be to DECLINE.

The other three nomiess will be released tonight at 8 PM ET, but MTV thought they’d tease up a bit with the news that Britney is up for Best Female Video.

Ryan Sheckler still competing with his broken arm!

Starting today the Orange County Fair has its star athelete, proclaimed “hottie” and event poster boy Ryan Sheckler. Sheckler said he “will compete” this weekend and it will be with a cast free broken arm. Of course there is BIG bucks at stake, $100k is on tap for the winner of the street competition. And everybody knows that that is Ryan Shecklers money event.

But we all know that Ryan got plenty cash and a huge crib in the San Clemente community. Ryan is an MTV headliner showcase and we all know that the banged up hero will get the applause of the teenage girls as he skates injured. Awwww, how cute 🙂

Teyana Taylor’s Google Me Video Release

Is Ryan Sheckler the real deal? Or just some TV Promo Fodder on MTV?

This is to follow up on the story from last week. We are seeing too much
about Ryan on the MTV show. But what about his skillz? So you be the judge man,
is Ryan the real deal? The vid is heated so you tell me if it is all that?

 

Sheckler’s career took shape during the summer of 1995, when Sheckler’s dad
built him and his friends a new quarter pipe along with a few other additions
making it a small skate park. A few years later, he joined the CASL (California
Amateur Skateboarding League) and entered one of their contests and won. He
idolized Tony Hawk and wanted to invite him to his seventh birthday party. Hawk
attended the party and took some time to practice with Sheckler.

During 1997-2001 Sheckler was winning the CASL state championships, where he picked up
his first eye wear sponsor, Arnette, the same company sponsoring Tony Hawk. In
2004 he was named the World Cup of Skateboarding’s National Street Champion. In
2005, he was named the World Cup of Skateboarding’s National Street Champion and
the Dew Action Sports Tour Athlete of the Year. For 2006, he won the Global
Assault in Australia and finished fifth at the Tampa Pro in Florida. Ryan has
had roles in the movies Grind and  MVP 2: Most Vertical Primate, and stars in his own MTV reality show “Life
of Ryan“.
